Iran’s Major General Mohammad Bagheri, the army’s top commander, said that Israel’s participation in the US Central Command’s (CENTCOM) activities in the region puts Washington’s and its allies’ facilities in the region at Israel’s disposal, a situation in which the threat against Tehran increases. On Tuesday, Israel’s Prime Minister Yair Lapid warned Iran in a video to not test his country’s “long arm.” Standing in front of an F-35 jet, Lapid said that “it is still too early to know if we have indeed succeeded in stopping the nuclear agreement, but Israel is prepared for every threat and every scenario,” adding that “if Iran continues to test us, it will discover Israel’s long arm and capabilities.”

The political crisis in Iraq deepened after 73 MPs affiliated with al-Sadr’s alliance resigned en masse in June, leaving the seats to be filled by members of the rival Coordination Framework, an Iran-aligned faction.

While on an official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan reiterated during a speech in Sarajevo that a Turkish attack against its neighbor and NATO ally cannot be ruled out. According to his statement, “if what I said was that we could come one night all of a sudden (it means) that, when the time comes, we can come suddenly one night.” Ankara accuses Athens of violating international agreements by militarizing islands close to Turkey’s Aegean coastline and that the Greek air defense locked on to Turkish fighter jets during a NATO exercise over the eastern Mediterranean.
